BADA: SaaS Banking Solution for Southeast Asia
BADA is a SaaS banking service specifically targeting the Southeast Asian financial software
solution market. Among the six ASEAN countries, the Philippines and Vietnam, with a population
of 100 million each, and Indonesia, with a population of 260 million, have populations where
less than 30% have bank accounts. Due to this, financial authorities in each country are actively
promoting policies that improve accessibility to financial services through Fintech such as
supporting e-Wallet and QR Code payment platforms.
Southeast Asia can also be viewed as a microcosm of the global market in which all global financial solution providers have entered – a market where response to digital finance demand & innovation has been lacking due to high cost and outdated technology in particular by most banks and financial institutions who primarily use solutions from Europe and India. Mirroring this increasing demand for digitalized financial solutions, demand for cost-effective, fast and flexible cloud-based financial solutions has surged, in particular by small and medium-sized companies that need to compete with the larger banks and Fintech/Big Tech institutions.
In response to the above market developments, and also in anticipation to long-term fundamental changes to financial software solution providers in Southeast Asia, Bankware Global launched BADA, a shared banking service for small savings banks and regional banks in the Philippines and Indonesia at the end of 2020. BADA provides high-quality financial services at competitive prices to over 10,000 small savings banks, rural banks, credit unions and microfinance companies in Southeast Asia based on cloud technology and economies of scale. Moreover, functions, products and services can be tailored for each customer, supplementary services augmented, and integration with other financial institutions achieved through its open APIs. From this prospective, BADA is supporting digital innovation of small and medium-sized banks and financial companies in Southeast Asia.
